Brett is an amazing teacher! He has an incredibly wide range of knowledge in music, I learned bass from him and he was very accommodating to the individual learning style. Shub Joshi possesses a rare blend of playing skill, teaching experience, and a soft, approachable manner that has made him such a hit with students of all ages, including early beginners. He’s a ‘heart-first’ educator whose primary focus is building up the individual, where the happy byproduct is a deep appreciation and ability to play the guitar. This student-centric approach led him to work with both the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto with their community music programming.

With a strong background in blues, pop, rock, and acoustic styles, Brett brings a well-rounded and practical approach to lessons. Students can expect to learn essential guitar skills such as chords, strumming patterns, finger placement, rhythm, ear training, basic theory, and even improvisation — all while working toward music that feels exciting and personally meaningful to them.
