Nat Fava, guitar instructor here at Annie Bonsignore Studios

Few instruments offer the freedom and versatility of the guitar. Whether you’re drawn to pop, rock, folk, country, blues, or singer-songwriter music, guitar provides a lifelong source of creativity, self-expression, and enjoyment. Students often discover that learning guitar improves concentration, perseverance, confidence, and problem-solving skills, while also providing a healthy break from today’s increasingly screen-driven world.

At Annie Bonsignore Studios, we’ve created a welcoming and inspiring environment where students can develop their skills, explore the music they love, and build a strong musical foundation under the guidance of experienced, supportive instructors.

BEGINNING YOUR GUITAR JOURNEY

WHAT TO EXPECT

BEGINNING YOUR GUITAR JOURNEY

OUR TEACHERS

There’s a reason the guitar hooks people: it plugs straight into the music they already love. Whether it’s Ed Sheeran on the radio, a Hendrix riff, or three chords around a campfire, the payoff comes fast — you can sit down and play something you recognize.

That’s exactly what we teach toward. Good guitar lessons aren’t about memorizing shapes on a fretboard; they’re about getting a real instrument into your hands and making music feel possible — first chord, first song, first riff, first time you sing and play at once.

At Annie Bonsignore Studios, our hand-picked guitar teachers meet each student where they are, whether that’s a total beginner, a kid learning a favourite song, or someone dusting off the guitar after years away. Lessons are shaped around your taste, your goals, and the music that made you want to play in the first place.

Shub Joshi

Shub Joshi possesses a rare blend of playing skill, teaching experience, and a soft, approachable manner that has made him such a hit with students of all ages, including early beginners. His ability to create instant comfort for new students, while supporting their guitar journey through all the various highs and lows, makes him a perfect fit here at Annie Bonsignore Studios.

He’s a ‘heart-first’ educator whose primary focus is building up the individual, where the happy byproduct is a deep appreciation and ability to play the guitar. This student-centric approach led him to work with both the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto with their community music programming.

Nat Fava

Private Guitar Instructor

Nathaniel (Nat) Fava is a Mississauga-based guitarist, music educator, and multidisciplinary artist with a background in both live teaching and professional studio work.

Since 2023, Nat has served as Music Director and Performance Program Instructor at School of Rock, building structured guitar lesson plans, leading rehearsals, and curating live performance setlists while giving students honest, constructive feedback. As the school’s former Studio Coordinator, he also upheld its Code of Conduct and safety protocols — the kind of consistency parents look for in a teacher.

His ear is backed by real studio credentials: as an Assistant Audio Engineer at The Recording Factory, Nat worked hands-on with a 32-channel console, recording and mixing tracks for professional release — giving him a technical understanding of tone and performance beyond most guitar teachers.

He holds a Foundation Degree in Visual and Digital Arts from Humber College, where he represented the 2018 graduating class at the NEBULA Art Showcase, and remains an active guitarist and multidisciplinary artist today.

This mix of hands-on guitar instruction, studio-level technical skill, and genuine artistic practice makes Nat a strong fit for Annie Bonsignore Studios, where technical skill and creativity are taught together.

Brett, helped me find my place again with music. I had played guitar and bass previously…however it was his expertise that helped me steady my perpetuated momentum with a concise routine regarding how I play now.

I had a pleasure of learning guitar from Shub. I went from having no musical or guitar experience to be able to identify parts of the guitar and terminology, how to identify and play chords, and play songs. What was especially impactful, was gaining a new passion for the instrument , as his passion was contagious.
He was always there to answer questions, make sure that I was progressing in the right way and jam with us. He was an excellent teacher, and I was very glad to be a student of his.

As a true rookie who didn’t even know how to properly hold a guitar on day one, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide than Shubrat. He has an incredible understanding of how to teach beginners and anticipates exactly where you’ll struggle or feel frustrated. What sets Shubrat apart is his ability to motivate; he kept me inspired to keep going even when my progress felt tiny. He was always available to answer questions and consistently pushed for quality over quantity, knowing exactly what I needed to focus on to truly get better. He was the perfect first teacher, and thanks to him, I still practice and love playing the guitar today.
