Annie Bonsignore, writing in Studio 1 with her beloved Gibson J-45 acoustic guitar.
Few instruments offer the freedom and versatility of the guitar. Whether you’re drawn to pop, rock, folk, country, blues, or singer-songwriter music, guitar provides a lifelong source of creativity, self-expression, and enjoyment. Students often discover that learning guitar improves concentration, perseverance, confidence, and problem-solving skills, while also providing a healthy break from today’s increasingly screen-driven world.
At Annie Bonsignore Studios, we’ve created a welcoming and inspiring environment where students can develop their skills, explore the music they love, and build a strong musical foundation under the guidance of experienced, supportive instructors.
The right teacher can completely shape a student’s musical journey. So what makes a great guitar teacher?
Music becomes even more meaningful when it’s shared with others. At Annie Bonsignore Studios, we believe performance opportunities help students build confidence, pride, and excitement around their progress.
From casual jam sessions and student showcases to community performances and recitals, students are encouraged to explore music in a supportive and inspiring environment.
Whether you’re learning your very first chords or performing full songs, there’s nothing quite like seeing your hard work come to life through music.
For students looking for a more structured or theory-based approach, lessons can also incorporate music reading, technique development, ear training, improvisation, and songwriting fundamentals.
Our instructors work with each student individually to create a learning path that matches their interests, experience level, and musical goals.
Whether students want a relaxed recreational experience or a more disciplined musical foundation, we help create a path that keeps them inspired and progressing.
Annie Bonsignore Studios is based out of a warm and welcoming home studio environment, with fully renovated teaching spaces designed specifically for music education and creativity.
Students learn in inspiring spaces equipped with quality instruments and opportunities for recording, collaboration, and creative exploration.

Brett is an amazing teacher! He has an incredibly wide range of knowledge in music, I learned bass from him and he was very accommodating to the individual learning style. Since learning bass from Brett, I have never needed another teacher!!! He is an amazing person who is fun to talk and experience music with!!! This man will teach you some blues!
Brett was one of my first guitar teachers and after him you could say I didn’t need another. His teaching style not only guides you whichever direction you want to be growing in but also gives you the skills and knowledge to be able to teach yourself and draw inspiration from every facet of your life. 10/10 would recommend, great guy.
Brett, helped me find my place again with music. I had played guitar and bass previously…however it was his expertise that helped me steady my perpetuated momentum with a concise routine regarding how I play now.
Learning guitar is much like learning any other skill; with great mentorship, a clear path forward, and the right balance of challenge and encouragement, students of all ages and experience levels can achieve remarkable things.
One of the beautiful things about the guitar is that it connects so naturally to the music people already love. From the timeless songwriting of The Beatles, Bob Dylan, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran, to the bluesy expression of B.B. King, the rock energy of Jimi Hendrix, the warmth of folk music, or the fun of strumming favourite songs around a campfire, the guitar offers something for everyone.
For some students, guitar is a creative outlet. For others, it’s a way to build confidence, discipline, focus, rhythm, and self-expression. Whether a student is learning their very first chords, working on strumming patterns, building finger strength, reading chord charts, exploring riffs, or returning to the instrument after years away, the right teacher can make all the difference.
At Annie Bonsignore Studios, we believe that successful guitar lessons are about far more than memorizing chord shapes or learning notes on the fretboard. The best teachers know how to make the instrument feel approachable, inspiring, and fun — helping students experience the real joy of being able to sit down, pick up a guitar, and actually play music they recognize and love.
Watching a student strum through their first song, master a tricky chord change, play a favourite riff, write their own progression, or discover the satisfaction of singing and playing at the same time is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do. Our goal is to create guitar lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s unique personality, goals, musical tastes, and learning style.
Shub Joshi possesses a rare blend of playing skill, teaching experience, and a soft, approachable manner that has made him such a hit with students of all ages, including early beginners. His ability to create instant comfort for new students, while supporting their guitar journey through all the various highs and lows, makes him a perfect fit here at Annie Bonsignore Studios.
He’s a ‘heart-first’ educator whose primary focus is building up the individual, where the happy byproduct is a deep appreciation and ability to play the guitar. This student-centric approach led him to work with both the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto with their community music programming.
Expect well-structured lessons that focus on student engagement and enjoyment, getting kids and adults enjoying their favourite pop and rock songs early and often.
