There's a reason the guitar hooks people: it plugs straight into the music they already love. Whether it's Ed Sheeran on the radio, a Hendrix riff, or three chords around a campfire, the payoff comes fast — you sit down and play something you recognize.
That's exactly what we teach toward. Good guitar lessons aren't about memorizing shapes on a fretboard; they're about getting a real instrument into your hands and making music feel possible — first chord, first song, first riff. Our hand-picked instructors meet each student where they are, whether that's a total beginner, a kid learning a favourite song, or someone dusting off the guitar after years away.
Free consultation available — no pressure, just a conversation.
Sing & Strum is small-group guitar instruction for beginners, built around chord playing, strumming patterns, rhythm and basic music theory — plus singing while playing, all at once. Classes stay small and tightly age-banded (max a 2-year gap) so every student gets real attention.
Students build listening skills, perseverance and confidence while learning popular songs from artists like Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, The Beatles and Bob Dylan — real music they already want to play.
Note: students provide their own guitar for group classes.
The right teacher shapes the whole journey. Every instructor at Annie Bonsignore Studios is a passionate educator and an active musician — here's who you (or your kid) will be learning from. Instructors with a play button below their photo have a short video, filmed right here at the studio, so you can meet them before your first lesson.
A "heart-first" educator with a rare mix of playing skill, teaching experience and a soft, approachable manner that puts new students — including early beginners — instantly at ease. Shub's student-centric approach led him to run community music programming for both the City of Mississauga and the City of Toronto.
Expect well-structured lessons focused on engagement and enjoyment, getting kids and adults playing their favourite pop and rock songs early and often.
"Shubrat is a very encouraging guitar teacher who makes learning fun and easy to understand. His patience and positive attitude made every lesson enjoyable, and I learned a lot in a short amount of time."
"As a true rookie who didn't even know how to properly hold a guitar on day one, I couldn't have asked for a better guide than Shubrat. He anticipates exactly where you'll struggle and keeps you motivated."
"I had a pleasure of learning guitar from Shub. I went from having no musical or guitar experience to being able to identify parts of the guitar and terminology, how to identify and play chords, and play songs. What was especially impactful was gaining a new passion for the instrument, as his passion was contagious. He was always there to answer questions, make sure I was progressing in the right way, and jam with us."
Nathaniel (Nat) Fava is a Mississauga-based guitarist, music educator and multidisciplinary artist. Since 2023 he's served as Music Director at School of Rock, building lesson plans, leading rehearsals and curating live performance setlists.
His ear is backed by real studio credentials as a former Assistant Audio Engineer at The Recording Factory — giving him a technical understanding of tone and performance most guitar teachers don't have. He holds a Foundation Degree in Visual & Digital Arts from Humber College.

Brett is a passionate, experienced guitar instructor who's spent over 10 years teaching children, teens and adults in one-on-one and small-group settings — warm, encouraging and highly student-centred.
With a strong background in blues, pop, rock and acoustic styles, students learn chords, strumming, rhythm, ear training, theory and improvisation. Brett also teaches bass, piano, drums and harmonica, and brings real studio recording and performance-prep experience.
"Brett helped me find my place again with music. I had played guitar and bass previously, however it was his expertise that helped me steady my momentum with a concise routine for how I play now."
"Brett is an amazing teacher with an incredibly wide range of knowledge in music. He was very accommodating to my individual learning style — since learning from him, I've never needed another teacher."
Our instructors are passionate educators and active musicians — effective, well-structured and caring, and genuinely inspiring mentors.
From jam sessions and student showcases to community performances and recitals — music becomes even more meaningful when it's shared.
