Music has been in my life since I was born, and to me it has always been a source of joy, community, personal empowerment, and creative expression. And while I was performing as early as 6 years old, it didn't take me long to discover my love of teaching it as well. And by the age of 18, I was instructing primary and high school students at multiple schools as a choir mistress and general music teacher in the Durban, South Africa area.
Upon my arrival in the Toronto area, I was fortunate to establish a successful teaching studio, in addition to becoming a regular performer within the jazz scene and music festival circuit. In 2017 I met my husband and pianist Stu Harrison, and we relocated to Milton to start our family :)
While my performing and writing career has continued to develop, with 3 albums and over 150 original songs under my belt, my love and excitement for teaching has never wained. and I'm thrilled to have opened my private studio in Milton Ontario now that my two little ones are a little older.
My goal with every student, every lesson, is to leave them feeling energized and unlocked. Students receive easy to understand homework and practice instructions, and we always celebrate big and small milestones alike.

“SING & STRUM”: Guitar & Singing Classes For Beginners
Kids as young as 7 will join a class of up to 8, and learn the basics of singing & guitar playing. Give them skills they'll use for a lifetime to bring them and those around them joy and musical fun! They'll learn how to play easy & popular hit songs as well as some introductory music theory. Click below for more info!
BEGINNERS - SINGING & UKULELE/PERCUSSION - GROUP SETTING
Starting August & September 2024
“UKULELE WINGS”: Ukulele & Singing Classes For Young Beginners
Kids as young as 5 will join a class of up to 8, and learn the basics of singing & ukulele playing, with additional fun with keyboards and percussion instruments. It's a general musical exposure experience using Ukulele as the main teaching vehicle. We use specially-written material and curriculum, along with other video resources to make this 45 minute class ultra-fun for kids.

“SATURDAY SONG CAMP”: Introduction to Songwriting Workshops
Youth aged 9 - 17 can learn the ins and outs of basic songwriting techniques and lyric construction, all while playing the final product as a group. A wonderful intro to modern music technology, and a brand-new creative outlet! A ton of fun, with a max of 8 students per Saturday.

I've taught singing to hundreds of students over the last twenty years, some were complete beginners, some were Juno-winning musicians and artists. My unique approach focuses on keeping personal inspiration and motivation high while focusing on fundamental vocal technique that can apply to all genres and settings.
